School Staff
The staff of First Christian School is dedicated to the well being of every child. The qualifications of those on staff include Bachelor Degrees, Early Childhood Certification, experience and the knowledge of early childhood development. Our teachers are up-to-date on the current developments in Early Childhood Education by attending conferences and workshops.

Director, Carolyn Maloney
Ms. Maloney has been Director of First Christian School for eight years. Before coming to First Christian School, Carolyn had 24 years of directing experience including a United Way Early Childhood Learning Center, church-affiliated pre-schools, and opened three privately-owned Early Childhood Learning Centers.

Carolyn has an Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education and continued her degree at Kean College. Professional Associations in which she is involved include Collaborative for Children, The National Association of the Education for Young Children, and is a participant of Bright Beginnings (United Way) for Directors, as well as The Southern Early Childhood Association.

In addition to directing, Carolyn taught Sunday school, was a substitute teacher in public schools and taught pre-school and kindergarten for many years. As a volunteer, Carolyn has served at area hospitals and inner-city schools as well as the school district in which she and her family resided.
