FCC is in a great central location in the city, and we find great joy in our relationship with the community. As part of that relationship, we host:
FAITH
American Chinese Fellowship: (Joshua Tau, Pastor) www.acfh.org.
First Christian Church hosts the American Chinese Fellowship for Bible Study on the First and Third Fridays of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Knowles Fellowship Hall. ACF provides evangelistic out-reach and discipleship to the non-christian Chinese community in Houston so that they may have an opportunity to know God and to receive the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. The group meets for Supper and then breaks out into smaller Bible study groups, conducted in either English or Mandarin Chinese. Parking is available on the North and South sides of the building, but is limited (carpooling is encouraged.)
Coastal Plains Area Ministry: we serve as a central meeting location for the Area Ministry of the Disciples of Christ. Liscened ministry training, Area Assembly, Disciples Women's Ministry Retreats and Youth Events.
We often host visiting church youth groups and college students doing mission work in and around the Houston area (they love the fact that we have showers!)
ARTS
Texas Private School Music Educators Association: uses the facilities to host Solo and Ensemble Festival, and Concert and Sight-Reading Contest.
Lone Star Lyric Theatre: our Worship Minister, Jeremy Wood has been affiliated with this group for a number of years and they use our space for auditions and rehearsals.
International Music Academy: our Organist, Dr. Matthew Loudermilk uses our sanctuary for his music academy recitals.
