BAPTISM

FCC practices baptism by immersion. This is when someone acknowledges their desire to be a follower of Jesus, prepares through the study of Scripture, shares their wish with someone else, and then is baptized by being submerged completely in a pool of water. This action symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ: we die to ourselves, are buried with Christ in the waters of baptism, and raised with Christ as we are lifted out of the water.
Baptism is usually pre-arranged with our pastor or church leaders, but we are always prepared to meet someone’s personal desire for baptism. If desired, other methods of baptism such as sprinkling are also observed. If you are already a Christian and would like to join FCC, other baptism traditions are honored.
